Happy New Year! Today is the first day of 2021. It’s a fresh start and a chance to begin something, anything you want. It also happens to be Friday, just an ordinary Friday. A day above ground is a good day, so use it wisely.
It can feel daunting to face a new year, especially knowing how this last one caught us all unprepared. A new year makes people think about goals, ideas, to do items, and all sorts of other making life better topics. Maybe that applies to you today and maybe it doesn’t. You may be one of those people who doesn’t wait for the new year to arrive, you set a goal no matter the day or date and work to get it done. Nothing tells us that the only time to set a goal is on January 1st; we can set a goal any time.
I wanted to use this verse from “Winter Wonderland” to remind us all that the past is gone and a new day is here to stay. That means the things we didn’t like about last year are behind us. We have the ability to make today a good day. Take a deep breath, give yourself a chance and do something just for you today. This day – Friday, New Year’s Day – is a great day to do one thing you want, no matter what anyone else thinks you should be doing. Time to let that new bird out of it’s cage and do you!
