Courage is not just for superheroes or the super successful, we all have the ability to exhibit courage. It is during times of uncertainty and chaos that the mastery of fear gets recognized within ourselves and by others as pure courage. Without even knowing it we are each exhibiting courage to live full and happy lives during this pandemic.
It takes courage to do something new, start over, or allow something to end. All of us will face one or all three of these situations as time progresses towards Summer. Some days we need to muster our courage to simply do the normal day to day things. Other days we need to muster our courage to face apparently insurmountable events and odds despite how we think or feel. Courage takes many shapes and forms, so many go unnoticed as the will to be courageous is usually an inside job.
When we act courageous we give others permission to do the same. When we face our fears we take away their power over us and we give ourselves the gift of freedom from fear. Our courage bolsters our self confidence and allows others to behave in the same manner. It only takes a few seconds to take that first step towards courage, and that first step is always the hardest. Once that first temp is taken momentum builds. A body in motion stays in motion, so just take the first step and let courage be your guide.
