A Great Lesson for an Early Morning

It was early morning after a huge wind and rain storm, and I was letting the dogs play before they ate breakfast. It is amazing what a little sunshine can do after a dark night. It was all I could do to not go wild with them as they frolicked and ran all over the place. The only way I got them to slow down was when they heard the food being put into their bowls.

It was as if the sunshine was reminding me that we made it, we are all safe, and the world has had a nice bath. The light through the trees was merely the backdrop for the beginning of a beautiful day after a night of fear.

Isn’t that the way it always seems to go? After a huge deadline, grueling project or some big something or other the next day of sunshine lightens the soul and reminds us that we succeeded. As the saying goes it is always darkest just before the dawn. I have learned to never let the fear of one day seep out and rob the joy from the next day; some days I am better at remembering this than others. Watching the puppies run and play in the morning light was the moment I needed to refresh my soul.

What big thing have you completed or survived recently such that you need to frolic in the morning light? Never underestimate the power of releasing and celebrating. Everyone needs to work hard then celebrate and rejoice. There comes a time when all the work is done, the fear has subsided, and the relief of a job well done needs to be enjoyed. This is the lesson I was reminded of as I was watching our dogs play in the light. It was a great lesson for an early morning.
