If Stray Cats can do it, Why Can’t We?

I ran into this friendly feline in an office park. After I said hello he stopped to chat then rubbed up against my leg with no fear at all. It was obvious to me that he had been around people a great deal and anyone who stood for a moment longer than normal would be greeted the way I was.

As I snapped a picture I was struck by his shadow, bigger than life, strong and solid. It reminded me that we are greater than we think, more impactful than we know, and the smallest act of kindness can change someone’s perspective. We do not have to remain who we are today, we can grow and change and become whoever we want. All we have to do is act. With nothing to gain but a rub on the head this friendly feline reminded me that we can choose everyday to give ourselves away and still have plenty to give.

As the holidays roll by, no matter what holiday you observe, take a moment to be greater than you are today by simply spreading an attitude of holiday cheer. You won’t lose anything, you won’t be lesser for giving something away for free, and you may even change someone’s day for the better. If a stray cat can do it, why can’t we?
