Reasons to be Thankful: Hard Work

It is the day after Thanksgiving and we are still living a life as a result of hard work. Be it leftovers, home projects, shopping or going back to work nothing comes easy unless you call it hard work. Everyone who has built anything of value has worked long hours to achieve their dream, even if that meant that for a little while their priorities seemed a bit out of whack.

None of us enjoyed a fabulous Thanksgiving meal without someone putting in a lot of hours in the kitchen. No one lives in a beautiful home without someone working long and hard to make it that way. No one lives much of a life at all without spending hours and hours working hard to keep everything going smoothly. Hard work is the key to it all.

I give thanks for hard work, it is has taught me invaluable lessons. Through hard work I learned about myself, my values, what I was willing to defend and what was truly important to me. Hard work taught me what I was capable of and that just because it is hard does not mean it is impossible. Hard work taught me to keep going, keep pushing, keep moving forward, and keep looking forward. Hard work taught me that I was more than I thought I was and that I am capable of more than I ever imagined.

I am thankful that I grew up in a family that valued hard work. I was taught how to do things and how to fail. I was taught to get back up, keep working and work hard. I know that the hard work in my life is not over, in some areas it is just beginning. I look forward to seeing the fruits of my hard labors that the future holds. Don’t fear hard work embrace it.
