It is never too late to make a change in your life. To go for that goal you have always wanted to achieve, or to downsize, rearrange or even change everything about your life. It is NEVER too late.
This piece of art is for a dear friend who has just completed her PhD at the age of fifty-seven. She has always wanted to teach and has been working on her education for almost a decade. Today we are celebrating with her on her new achievement. I wanted to create a congratulatory gift for her, so I asked what were her favorite colors and a quote/verse/poem she loved. She told me earth tones and this verse. I was glad to be able to give her a piece of my work for her to enjoy for years to come.
I admire that my friend did not let age, a full time job, time or workload be the excuses that prevented her from reaching her goal. She takes away all our excuses, all our reasons why we can’t do something for ourselves. We all need to know people like this, it puts all the roadblocks we keep putting in front of ourselves into perspective. When someone we know succeeds it gives us permission to succeed and license to change our own lives. All we need to do is get busy. Let today be the day we get busy reaching our goals.
Congratulations DeJaun for doing what people told you couldn’t be done. Hooray for raising the bar for all of us. And thank you for serving as a reminder that nothing is impossible. It is never too late to change our lives.
