There is so much change going on around us that many have begun to think about their life differently. What do I really want? What do I love to do? What is truly important to me? What am I willing to change to move from where I am to where I want to be?
Change is both exciting and daunting at the same time. Change demands action because complacency gets eaten alive. If we are not willing to change we will be pushed to the side, rolled over or passed by. That may sound harsh yet we all know it’s true. Like the ostrich who has shoved his head in the sand, the only one losing in that situation is the ostrich everyone else has moved on. When the ostrich looks up everything is different and he is left behind.
In this quote Oprah Winfrey reminds us that to succeed we first need to search within ourselves and find what we love, then turn that love into an act of service. Giving ourselves away is one of the best forms of change. It changes our life it changes those we touch sending ripples out farther than we could ever imagine.
Big change can be overwhelming so maybe tackle a little one today. Search within yourself for what you want to change and do one thing today to make that a reality. Clean up your own world in order to be free to discover and then serve the world. Someone out there needs what you have to give, so set yourself up to be free to give yourself away.
