Wouldn’t it be great to have a driver do all of the driving for you? You could sit in the back and spend your time doing other things – being productive, relaxing, talking to people, or maybe simply sleeping. It is a luxury most of us do not have everyday and some of us wish were part of our lives. I use the the word ‘some’ as not everyone would enjoy this all the time.
There is something to be said for a long, relaxing drive on the back roads enjoying the peace and quiet of being behind the wheel. Some of my best ideas have come to me while I was driving. If I need to get away, all I have to do is drive anywhere and the stress begins to peel off in layers. Of course this is different that than driving as part of a daily commute, that is when a driver would be a huge benefit. Now that the majority of us work from home there is no need for a commute.
Amelia Earhart reminds us that there is more to life than being a passenger and letting someone else do all the work and make all the decisions. There is more to sitting idly by and waiting for life to happen to you instead of making things happen. For most of us our lives changed the day we stood up for ourselves and began making our own choices. Life is much more interesting when we choose our own path and live with the consequences of our own behaviors; we may not always like the outcomes and yet if we are honest with ourselves we cannot blame anyone but ourselves.
Let me encourage you today to get out there and be the one behind the wheel of your own life. Adventures, misadventures, tragedies, triumphs or simply sitting in your own home reading a good book, whatever it is you choose to do, do it well and be proud to choose it for yourself.
Love this! So true. Taking ownership of your life and your choices is the first step to a happy life.
