No matter what the media tells you, the advertisements spout, or the Christmas movies propagate, this is what Christmas is all about. The greatest gift arrived as a baby resting in a manger. Wise men listened and traveled to the blessed event. Shepherds saw the star announcing it all, paid attention and were there to see Jesus in his humble beginnings.
God has given us all we need, all we have to do is pay attention and believe. And to believe means action and change. We have free will and choice to do what we want whenever we want, however we want. All we have to do is exercise our ability to choose and believe in this simple set up. It means taking it at face value and understanding that there is a gift greater than anything you will find under a tree this morning. It means gladly giving up control and turning everything over to a higher power. It means not being the center of it all, simply letting Jesus be who He said He was…and allow Him to be that in your own heart. It really is that simple.
