Inktober Day 2: Reveal Their Riches

Acrylic & Metallic Ink on Gel print Monotype – Words: Unknown

I give great thanks for the people who love and support me. I am blessed with a few REALLY good friends, ones that are not high maintenance or demanding, they do not require daily contact or conversation, and yet I KNOW they would show up if I needed them at three in the morning. They have invested in me, encouraged me, and make my world a better place.

The greatest good we can do for others
is not to share our riches
but to reveal theirs.

So how can I repay their generosity and kindness? The best way is by being the same kind of person for them as they have been for me, and by doing the same for others. It is one thing to share our wealth – money, time, power. It is another thing to help other people reveal their own wealth – talents, skills, thoughts, ideas, money, time, and power. Giving people the ability to see themselves as we see them, releasing them from those haunting thoughts between their ears, THAT is the true gift. Most of us discount our own abilities because we compare it to what we see or read about others. Everyone looks better when we don’t know the whole story. And let’s face it, most things online or that we read about people only tells us one tiny piece of a great big puzzle. Until we invest in people we do not KNOW them much better than on the surface.

Let me encourage you to find ways to bring out the best in others. Get to know them, praise their talents and outputs, help them unleash their true inner beauty and abilities by asking good questions and helping them overcome their fears. FEAR – false evidence appearing real. By putting kindness into practice we can overcome a multitude of fears! Our value is not in our bank balance, it is in how we invest in others, it is how we help them reveal their riches, what they can give to the world. THAT is a great legacy and a superb daily goal…help one person feel, think, and live better.
