Practice the Art of Thankfulness

Ink on Toned Paper – Words: Norman Vincent Peale

It is two days after Thanksgiving. We have devoured most of the leftovers, our guests have headed home, and I had the pleasure of spending the day with three very talented women. I am thankful and blessed to call them my family and my friends. Family is not only the people who we are blood related to; family are the people we can count on to do ANYTHING for us, no questions asked. They encourage us, admire us, help us grow into the people we were meant to be. All the while finding a way to become a better version of themselves.

We had a Play Date today in our studio, having fun and being creative. We made Christmas trees using fabric, paper, patterns, even sheet music. We glued, painted, colored and even cut every which way in order to create something wonderful to decorate each of our homes. There is great blessing in being able to hang with people who encourage you to create, go beyond what you think, and then gush over your final work.

I believe that Norman Vincent Peale was exactly right. The more you practice the art of thankfulness, the more you have to be thankful for. And today I am filled to the brim with great food, great conversations, great creativity and REALLY great people. I would encourage you to sit quietly and give thanks for ALL the abundance you have in your own life…even as your hopes and dreams dare to believe that even more wonderfulness is headed your way. Partake the art of thankfulness and you will be blown away by what an abundant life you live!
