The word I heard all sorts of places today was COURAGE. Courage to speak the truth. Courage to be true to one’s self and your ideals. Courage to try something new, and the courage to make yourself a priority in your own life.
We know that courage is of great value and helps defend our land, our streets and our homes. It helps us explain what we believe, or why we choose not to partake. It helps us muster the energy and gumption to do the right thing when everyone else is just going along. And it helps us feel better about ourselves when things around us seem to be falling apart. And yet in the midst of all of those things, we can sometimes feel our courage waning because being courageous does not always make you the popular person in the room.
Courage also means not being understood. It means taking a stand on unpopular issues with a different or contrary opinion. Courage means saying ‘NO!’ When everyone else says yes. And it means being able to look yourself in the mirror at the end of the day knowing that you had the courage to do the right thing even if it might have seemed like a small thing.
You know what’s coming, it is time for you to have courage in your own life. To stand tall and true. True to yourself, your beliefs and true to what you hold dear. Stop letting people walk all over you because it is easier than dealing with the mess that courage may create. Have the courage to fight that good fight. Stand tall, stand strong and be courageous. You won’t know the outcome unless you enlist your courage and protect the life you have built.
