Mother…

The prompt this week for my calligraphy group was ‘mother’ to honor Mother’s Day. I wanted to do something that reminded me of my Mom, so I created a flower with Pentel brush pens, copic markers and 3D black paint. My Mom loves flowers and gardening, painting flowers and bringing them into the house to add life and color. The best thing she did for me was to give me room to grow.

I was blessed with an amazing mother and friend. I know others who were not that fortunate. They had messed up mothers, moms that were never around, or their mother died very early in their life. I have realized that no matter what card you were dealt in terms of your mother, you have the power to be happy and succeed. It’s all about choices.

Choose to be you no matter your parental situation. Choose to be happy and work hard to succeed at whatever you want. I simply ask you to choose wisely.
