Life changes in an instant…we received the horrible news that a friend died in a car accident last night. It is shocking, and sad, and forces you to look at your reality and not take anything for granted. I talked with a woman this week who found out the baby she is caring has water on the brain and there is a chance that it may not survive the pregnancy, and if it does it may have severe disabilities. A third person spoke with me about a recent death in their family – ‘the healthy one’ – and how it was such a shock to everyone who knew her.
Life is precious, whether you are having a good day, and bad day, or simply a day. It is unfortunate that we need reminders that none of us is promised tomorrow, so we need to cherish today. Seeing the loss in other families remind us of how blessed we are to live and love. For any of us life can change in an instant.
