This technology cabinet stored important data and connections. It held the ins and outs of vital information for a company. If the system went down, it may have been from one of these switches being in the wrong position. The simple flicking of the switch to the other position could change everything.
When I saw this it hit me that generations of children who are now adults grew up without ever seeing anything like this. They grew up with the internet, microwaves, download services for movies or music, and apps where you post your life in photos for the world to comment. They may never realize that ‘long’ ago it was someone’s job to know how to keep things running by the way it was all connected to this cabinet. My how times have changed. And we have had to change with them, or stagnate and get left behind.
I had someone ask me if I could get rid of one thing in this world, what would it be? What would you get rid of? What modern ‘convenience’ or technology would you rather live without? And now that we are practically addicted to technology, could you live without it? Would you be able to go back to the days when this cabinet was cutting edge? A simpler time when we held conversations and interacted with technology instead of being controlled by it. Or when you talked to people instead of messaging them?
What would you get rid of? Could you go back to a simpler time and still function?
