The Humongous Goal

Many of you may remember that several years ago I gave myself a challenge. I was going to post to my blog every day for a year. I wanted to see if I could do it, and if I had enough in my brain to write something each and every day. That was three and a half years ago, and I am still creating a daily post. There have been technology challenges and timing snafus, yet I have created more than one thousand three hundred posts to date.

If you had told me then that I would still be writing three years late, I would never have believed you. I never thought I would have enough to say, let alone that people would want to read my ramblings. And yet I am still here, and you are too. This is a mid year thank you, and a challenge to keep reading. I want to keep going and I hope you have enough to want to keep reading.

We hear all the time about dreams, and thinking big, and challenging ourselves. We know the having a goal provides direction. We also know that big dreams and big goals can scare us. Sometimes we need to set a goal, and then let time, knowledge and effort take over. If you are like me, you want to set a goal yet don’t know how you are going to actually do it; so you hesitate to set the goal and let time pass you by. Maybe my check in is just the encouragement you need to get back to thinking about what you want, and setting a frightening goal to get there.

If your goal isn’t so big that it scares you, you’re not thinking big enough. If you can figure out how you’re going to do it, then you aren’t thinking big enough. If you can do it all by yourself, then you definitely are not thinking big enough. Challenge yourself to complete or learn something that you don’t know how to do, you don’t know how you will get there, and that you cannot do alone. THAT type of goal is one that will take you farther than you could ever imagine; it is the type of goal that can change your life.

I’ll keep blogging, you set a humongous goal and together we will change our worlds. It only takes one day at a time.
