Envelope…

This week’s calligraphy prompt was to create an envelope. Anything could be the topic, and long as it could be mailed. I knew I would be traveling this week, so I created this envelope to send to my hubby while I was away. We have a running joke in our family about Teletubbies, so I thought I would leverage some fun and create a piece of snail mail he could not miss. He got it today and sent me a thank you via text…hee, hee. He loved the surprise and the envelope.

We have traveled all over and brought Teletubbies with us in some form or fashion. They traveled to Japan to climb Mt Fuji, and across the US on a road trip. They have been with us on trains, planes, buses, and boats. They have been to multiple bodies of water and everything from beaches to mountains and flatlands in-between. Between the costumes, figurines, toys and dishes we have given all sorts of Teletubbies paraphernalia. WE hunt the stuff down at flea markets, junk stores and antique shops. It is getting easier to find it because it is coming back as a ‘vintage’ toy line.

When we see Teletubbies we think of family, fun, and how we can creatively out do ourselves for the next gift. We plot all year long for Christmas gifts, and have a stash that will last for years to come. It’s fun to have something silly and frivolous to connect us to each other.

When was the last time you were silly and frivolous? I highly recommend it. Being an adult can be hard work, wear you down, and wear you out. We all need a little more silly in our lives. If you haven’t been silly in a while, try being silly soon. It will do your heart and your head a whole lot of good.
