How exciting could your day be if you could simply use a little Sprinkle Mix on it? It’s super amazing and brings all the best of decorating, color, and fun into one mix. Someone saw all the leftovers in the bakery decorating station and had the idea to combine the remnants into one exciting mix. This is not for the faint of heart. And it is not for everyone. It’s for those who are willing to go a little crazy and decorate in a new way.
In the store where I saw this I heard a customer comment. “I don’t like that. Everything all jumbled together and mixed up. It doesn’t really look like it makes any sense.” So obviously this mixed up combination is not for her. She prefers each color or option in it’s own container available upon demand and then she can control what goes where. Her friend shopping with her said, “I like it. I think my kids would like it. It’s fun and unpredictable and not like all the other toppings.” It is a bit zany and does bring a lot of color and texture to the party. You have no doubt it will pack some punch when you put it on a cookie or cupcake. Who knew that a Sprinkle Mix could spark such conversations?
We all get set in our ways and like an implied sense of control. We like to think that we are creative and have organized our world in such a way that we have fun, excitement and spontaneity. Then we see something like this and it reminds us that we live in a little box where we color within the lines, where we know what creativity means and we employ it in our own ways. This mix dispels all that. It forces you to give up control and just go for it. When you use it you have no idea what will go where, how the colors will be distributed or if anything sparkly will appear at all. You have to give up control and let the fun within the mix release and go free. You have to be out of the box and willing to get messy. You have to know that nothing you expect will be there, yet what will be created will be like nothing you have ever eaten before.
On my way home I thought about this mix and the shrieks of delight as a group of children see the cupcakes covered in such sprinkle madness. They would see fun and color and sparkle, and it all in one place, on their cupcake ready to be devoured. I could hear their thoughts imagining the glitter and colors filling their souls and defending their minds from the Evil Lord of Boring. And I enjoyed imagining the laughter and giggles as they picked their favorite decorations off the cupcakes, mixed with the icing, turning their fingers into rainbows. And of course the inevitable sugar high that would shortly follow.
What a great way to bring life to the your next baking endeavor. The possibilities are endless, that is if you are willing to mix things up and give up control.
