Aim high, aim long term, aim for the biggest thing you can think of. Just be sure to aim.
These prints are old school room posters from the twentieth century. I love the fact that ‘A’ stands for something other than apple, which is what I always saw in my classrooms. What a great message for school children that the first letter of the alphabet stands for AIM. How often to we get started on things and forget to aim. We work hard, we toil, we spend hours planning, yet all too often we forget to aim. One of my favorite questions I ask people when things are getting started is, “what does success look like?” If we do not know how to recognize success how are we going to know when we get there?
What are you aiming for right now, today? What goal do you want to reach? Maybe the challenge you are having is that you are working and working and still working and you do not really know in what direction you are headed. You keep going and going not knowing where you will land. I think of the power of an arrow. It can do amazing things when it is pointed in the right direction. Maybe you are that arrow with power galore, you just need a bit of direction to get where you REALLY want to go.
A is for Aim, and act, and advance, and action…think about these ‘A’ words and put them into your mental vocabulary today.
