Inspiration: Women in Comfortable Shoes

All over the airport are people walking to and from their gate. As you can see here, some wear comfortable shoes…some go more for fashion. I see people wearing flip flops, boots, sneakers, high heels, loafers…and some look as if they forgot that they would be walking all over the airport and are now dreading their shoe choice. Here you see the three people – two women and one man – sitting in front of me before we board our flight.

I thought about the high heels shoes this woman is wearing. Only a few moments later another woman sat down with even higher heels on. Both were busy on their phones checking email and returning phone calls. The other woman who was wearing tennis shoes was on her phone checking email, then ate her breakfast.

When I watch people at the airport I wonder why they made the fashion choice they did, knowing they were going to be traveling by airplane? Why some people dress professional and others are business casual, and still others are very casual. Everyone has somewhere to go yet they all made different choices. Are they trying to make a statement about themselves?Their  destination? Their devotion to fashion or comfort? OR are they just thinking ahead? Maybe the woman who was dressed professionally had to leave the airport and head straight into a meeting? Maybe the tennis shoe wearers did not have to go into the office, maybe they work remote or are on vacation? Maybe they work for a company where tennis shoes are ok for the work place? Maybe I am over thinking this whole thing?

I am fascinated and highly entertained when I travel just by watching the people. Some store is getting rich on tennis shoes, black leggings and backpacks as well as smart phones and headphones. I see these everywhere. What about you? How do you dress when you travel, and why do you dress that way? Do you travel in comfort, for speed, or for the end game? I think that is a lot like how we make decisions and organize our worlds…some of us worry more about comfort, others are concerned about fashion, and some others can pull off a combinaiton of both. IT all boils down to waht is improtant to you and how you express that in your appearance. Next time you are in the airport check out the woman wearing comfortable shoes and those who can barely walk…there is a big difference, just sayin’!
