When you place an order at Waffle House there is a process your waitress follows to let the cook know what you ordered. She shouts out the items you want, and another line member places food items/symbols on the plate as a que for the cook. The cook then follows the symbols and prepares your order just the way you want it. It is an amazing process to watch. It is organized, methodical, even systematic.
To learn what goes where takes time, so there is a learning curve. We have waited for our food when someone on the line didn’t do their part, and the whole process fell apart. We’ve also been in stores where our food arrived quickly, hot, and yummy. What makes the difference is each person knowing their role and value in the chain of things.
