One of my goals for 2015 was to build a stronger online presense. As a result I set the goal of posting once each day for 365 days. When I told my husband and friends that I wanted to post 365 times, they said, “Could you not have started out a little smaller – like weekly postings?” I saw their point – someone who was inconsistent at best was going to jump into the deep end and post for a full year? Despite my poor attempts in the past, I was committed to doing it. My response to everyone who made that comment (and there were many), “Go BIG or go home!” So I went big, and posted for a full year.
I have sometimes struggled with what to say. Was anyone reading this stuff? Did what I wrote make a difference? Or was I just posting to post and fulfill a goal? Round about March I started getting more comments, more likes, and people reposting my posts. I have ended the year with these being read in 42 different countries, with thousands of people reading…Who Knew!
I was asked recently if I was going to keep going now that the year was up? To be honest, I had not thought that far ahead. After I pondered having achieved my goal, the lazy side of me wanted to stop. Maybe people have had enough? Maybe I have nothing left to say? Do I want to continue now that I have reached the end? Or maybe there is a whole new audience out there who needs these daily thoughts? More and more people seem to be reading this each day…so I will continue. But I need your help. If you have enjoyed these posts, please like them AND share them with someone in your social circle…help me reach the people I don’t know and encourage and inspire them as well. Thanks for your support and encouragement, and for sharing this year of inspritation with others.
As this is the last day of year, and the last day of my 365 day personal challenge – let me encourage you one more time this year. When you think big, there will be nay sayers. The negative will come, and sometimes come down hard from unexpected sources. You will doubt yourself, you will question the why and the how and the end goal. You will have moments of panic and fear, self doubt and moments of emptiness. All that is to be endured and overcome. Because the person you become along the path to your goal is the REAL triumph. In all this, with all I have shared, I was the one who has been impacted the most. The win is not only in achieveing the goal, but sharing that victory with others.
As we say goodbye to 2015, think big! Go for your goals. If they seem big and daunting and scary, do it anyway! If people tell you that it won’t work or you can’t do it, or think smaller…go big anyway! In reading this you are part of helping me achieve my goal, and together we will keep going into another exciting year of encouragement and inspriaton, so stay tuned and share this with someone else…the best is yet to come!!!
