We found this display of 1950s Chrsitmas decorations and they brought back fond memories of childhood holiday trees. For my husband’s Italian grandmother, these were the decorations of choice. We still have a couple boxes of her decorations like these in our attic. It’s amazing that something so small and delicate can hold the key to cherished childhood memories.
What memories are you creating for the next generation in your family? No matter the color, shape or size…every time we decorate for the holidays we are creating a memory that will be cherished for the next generation. Make sure it is a good one. Make sure they know that this season is more than just ornaments and trees, it’s about giving and receiving…and more about giving than receiving. It’s what we give that matters, not what we receive.
