Inspiration 346: Taking “it” for Granted

You are not seeing things, these books are climbing over the bookshelf and onto the ceiling of this furniture store. A very clever designer attached them to the wall and ceiling with pages open, turned, and wrinkled. It added great interst to the bookshelf display. Don’t believe me? When was the last time something in a store made you stop and look all across the ceiling? This one worked for me.

We talk about the glass ceiling, popcorn ceilings, murals on ceilings, all sorts of ceilings. And yet not very often do we actually use the ceiling to our advantage. It’s always there shielding us from the outside…mostly protecting us, holding up our world…totally forgotten.

Today I encourage you to look around for something you take totally for granted…dare to use it and see it from a different view. It may mean adding something like these books.. Or it may mean taking something away…like removing curtains to let in the sunshine. Use today to stop taking “it” for granted.
