Here you see two Geisha taking a cab in the Gion District of Kyoto, Japan. I find this a perfect example of how the ancient side of Japan interacts with the modern. Where else in the world would you see a woman dressed in a century old style taking a combustion engine form of transportation to her evening appointment? Only in Japan.
Where in your world do you have the opportunity to mix an ancient art form, talent, skill, or craft with modern tools? Have you ever thought about when the tools you use were developed, and by whom? It is a great homage to the past when we carry on and respect traditions in our current world. It means all the battles and learning that occurred will not be lost.
I encourage you to think about how the tools you use were developed. Think about how the ancient and modern work together to make things in your world work. Like a Geisha, be an ambassador of respect and beauty…and encourage others to keep the traditions going.
