It is Sunday afternoon on the Ginza in Tokyo, which means they close the streets for the people to walk down the center and enjoy the day…but this little girl has had enough. She stopped in the middle of the cross walk and just deicded she was done. She wanted no more and simply stopped. Here you see her Daddy trying to coax her into moving forward…from the look on her face, I think he is in for quite a battle.
There are days when I want off the ride. When I want to stop the madness and simply be still. I want to take a break from my world and be quiet…when I saw this little girl, I could totally relate. She was tired, had walked a long way, was tired of shopping, and was done. What I admire is that in her child mind, she just stopped…she didn’t care where she was, or who it impacted, or what would happen next…she just stopped. And it seemed to confound the people around her.
We can’t just stop our lives – they always go on – yet we can stop when we get overwhelmed and take a break. Maybe you need a break from your world. Maybe you need to stop doing what you are doing and take time for a quiet moment and relax. I would not recommend a cross walk on the Ginza, yet this little girl does have the right idea. Have the courage to stop when you need to stop, take a break and let your body relax. You can only endure so much on pure will power until your physical being needs to rest. Give it a rest and enjoy the day…
