Sometimes you need a new perspective on things. You need to look at the world through another set of lenses. I peered through this light fixture and it did the trick. The odd shapes and varied forms of color made me think about my perspective on things.
Some people are the glass half empty types…something will go wrong, nothing works out, eventually things run dry. The type that see the down side before seeing an up side.
Then there are the glass half full types…something good will happen, it will all work out, eventually good things will come my way. The type that see the up side before they even notice that there might be a possible down side.
There are a third and a fourth type. The third type is just happy that there is a glass…they can appreciate all they are given and are just glad to have a glass…no matter what happens, no mtter the outcome…having a glass is totally awesome! And the fourth type in my opinion is the most dangerous…they think they are type two (glass half full) but are really type one (glass half empty)! They are the ones who may publicly embrace the positive, yet behind closed doors reveal they have no hope and mock you for having ANY hope…yipes! You know them, they are friends and family who mean well, want to point out the reality of your situation AND tell you how to proceed…never bothering to find out your persepctive on things.
Each perspective has it’s point of view, and in our great country we are entitled by law to be able to express those opinions freely and without fear. The REAL gift here is the ability to run very far from the hope stealers and run towards to hopeful! It’s up to you which perspective you adopt, which one you listen to…and where you spend your time. Personally, I’m blessed to have many, many, many glasses in my cupboard…what’s in your cupboard?
