How can you go to any fair, amusement park or festival and not partake in Funnel Cake? It’s sweet, warm, crunchy, covered in powdered sugarie goodness…and one of those foods that reminds us all of fun times with friends. Check out the little girl in line…waiting patiently for her turn to eat that yummy treat, knowing that soon her taste buds will savor that delicious fried magic.
Who cares that it is ten o’clock at night? Who cares that she has been in the park all day and is worn to a frazzle from all the fun? Who cares that she will be bouncing off the walls for hours after consuming all that sugar? (OK, her parents might care on that one!) Who cares that it is fattening and sugarie and bad for you? Who cares that it is probably over priced and may make her stomach hurt? Who cares?
Sometimes you need to let loose and break all the rules. Sometimes you need to enjoy the moment and not worry about the balanced nutrition of it all. Sometimes you need to eat what you want, when you want, no matter the circumstances. Sometimes you need to be a little kid waiting in line to savor sweet goodness…sometimes ya’ just gotta throw logic and caution to the wind and eat the funnal cake when life offers it…who cares!!! Just enjoy the moment and eat the entire thing all by yourself.
