Inspiration 197: From Her Perspective

I am a huge fan of Lady Liberty. She stands as a beacon of hope and inspiration for millions, nothing expected in return. I admire that French children gathered copper pennies to contribute to creating this gift to the United States. I am amazed each time I visit New York that most residents have never been to visit this impressive landmark. And yet she stands there day in, day out holding up a torch of hope for all to see.

I have been to the top. I’ve walked through her crown and high into the torch, when they used to let you do that. It is an amazing site to see the New York skyline boldly before every inch of your view; it is amazing to see the city from her perspective.

But isn’t that true about life in general? You will be amazed in someone else’s view into your life, if you have the guts to ask. Don’t ask just to be validated, ask for their REAL opinion. Find out how they see your world. What insights can they provide to you about you? When I have enough courage to ask those I trust what they see, I am always amazed and reminded of my blessings. It puts my fears and anxieties into perspective, and reminds me of who I am and how I impact others. Have courage enough this week to ask someone you trust what they see inyour  life, someone who will give you a view of your skyline from her perspective.
