This is our fat cat Gabbi walking up our back driveway. I’m not sure where she has been, and I’m not sure I want to know. She does look like she is on a mission however….probably on her way to find the food bowl. I like that our cats wander around our backyard without a care in the world.
There is something charming about back yards. They are places of peace and rest, and somehow serve as a soothing escape from the rest of the world. These are the places where we invite friends to chat and drink adult beverages…or enjoy a banana popsicle on a steaming summer day. We still have a lot of work to do in our backyard – weeds to pull, walkways to create, trees to plant – and yet I love the tranquil nature of our chairs, just sitting there waiting for someone to enjoy the calm. We find ourselves sitting back here a lot…just relaxing away the frenzy and rush of a busy week.
