Inspiration 136: The Labors of a Previous Time

During the month of May, each time we drive home, these irises greet us. They line one side of our driveway and bloom only in May. I cannot take credit for planting them, the previous owner of our house did that many years ago. I do take credit as the one who weeds and cleans them out each Spring and Fall, thus allowing them to grow bigger and brighter each year.

What are you the caretaker of in your world? What did someone else create years ago that you are able to enjoy now?  It could be an idea, a garden, a program or a process…all of us are recipients of someone else’s hard work. Today give thanks for someone who went before you and created something you now enjoy. Like the irises that greet us in May, give thanks for the things you cherish that are from the labors of a previous time.
