The blow torch, what a great invention. Here is a collection someone had for sale. I found it fascinating that there were so many types. Who knew? Not being a regular blow torch user, I never really thought about how many varieties there would be. I guess I thought you blew fire and heating things up, who needed other features? Obviously I was wrong.
This person showed me that there is SOOOOO much I don’t know about SOOOO many things….including blow torches. I felt dumb and inspired at the same time. Maybe the right word isn’t dumb, more uneducated. I had no idea that someone out there had a collection of antique blow torches, and knew how to use every feature of every version.
I was glad to be wrong, to feel uneducated and inspired, and to listen to someone who was a wealth of knowledge about something that I didn’t even know existed. Today I encourage you to seek out something you don’t know – be willing to be dumb (or uneducated) and inspired at the same time. Spend time with someone who thinks differently than you, so they can open your eyes to new and marvelous things and ideas. Ya’ never know, you might encounter some antique blow torches that will rock your world!
