I just finished addressing all the mailers for the show. Over 200 are being sent out, plus the ones we have already handed out. This is definitely one thing that all artists struggle with – marketing yourself, your art and balancing that with producing the work. How to fit it all in only 24 hours a day….oh yeah, and I have a ‘day’ job on top of that!
Tonight I also completed a 30×30 inch mat for a calligraphy piece I worked on over the weekend. The mat is being flattened under my ‘weight’ so it will accommodate the piece better. This one will be unframed and most likely be priced around $395. All in all I am setting the goal to complete the works I have in progress – nothing else is going to be started. I will end up with somewhere around 250-300 pieces of work in the booth! Whew – just typing that makes me tired!
We are already planning for the next show. Canton hosts a festival of the arts in May and I am talking with them about having a booth for the entire gallery. I’ll let you know how that goes…
