Just a little update post. I’ve been continuing on working on my books. I also had a request to make a box for one of Ann’s workmates. I am quite happy with all the work I’ve done. Here are some shots of the box. What you can also see here is an awesome book press that my father-in-law made for me… and that Ann calligraphied on it for Valentines Day.
As for books. I have learned a different sewing method that I think is correct now. The pages lay correctly, and is simple to do. I am able to sew a 30 page book block in about 15 minutes or so. I have also bound the books. The first one is one I did over the weekend. It was from a purchased text block fromHollanders
The next is a block I sewed myself from watercolor paper (I think it is Fabriano paper, or something along those lines). Both are covered in quite unique paper. The first is sort of like a lizard skin, the next is like alligator skin. Both are paper… but just textured. Very cool.
