Sample Wedding Gift

One of the ‘products’ I am known for are my wedding gifts. I have created them for about twenty years and know that people invite me to their daughter’s, son’s, cousin’s weddings just so I will create a piece for their loved one. It is an honor and a blessing to be able to create a personal piece of art for couples as they begin their lives together. Because in reality, all a wedding REALLY is, is a big party to celebrate the beginning of a new family and send them off with wishes of love and joy. It is a time for their loved ones to agree before God to support the couple throughout their life together. And what better way to celebrate that event than with a piece of art the new family can enjoy for many years!?!

About ten years ago I began selling more of these pieces and can’t even count the places and couples that have my work hanging in their homes. These commissioned works are one of a kind and vary in price, size, content and color scheme. They are truly unique to each couple and are customized to their wedding specifics. As a result of this, I am creating a ‘SAMPLE’ wedding piece for the booth…but it’s not REALLY a sample…

One of my oldest and dearest friends, Laura Green, is planning the wedding for her daughter Brittany who is getting married in April. I just received the ‘save the date’ card from the couple and completed the first stage of the gift – the mat. I have already spoken to Laura and she gave her ‘ ay, okay’ on utilizing Brittany’s wedding gift in the booth as a ‘SAMPLE’ wedding gift. We are going to feature the completed gift in the booth and have an order form available for people who might want to commission a work for the weddings in their worlds.

Needless to say I am not going to show pictures of this gift here until after the wedding. It is a surprise for Brittany and I would not want to spoil the joy by posting something online…who knows who REALLY reads this stuff! So after April 16th, pictures of the gift will be posted.

Thanks Laura, I am looking forward to your reaction to her gift when you see it in the booth.  I will send you a picture of the mat from my phone this weekend…it’s all dry and sitting in the frame ready for the calligraphy… woo hoo! I think Brittany and Shane will LOVE it!
