Being in a show means you have to also create a booth. If you have ever been to a festival, art show or vendor fair, you know what I mean. As I am preparing for the American Craft Council show, not only am I creating inventory (LOTS of inventory), we are creating the booth. Last night I worked on the display tables. Dad built them, stained them, and installed the folding legs. I worked on the edges and tonight will work on the tops. Once I finish the calligraphy, we will put on several coats of polyurethane and possibly a final coat of wax. (FYI – the tables will not be for sale…however, we are preparing for people who might want to order similar pieces of furniture…the boy scout motto: Be prepared!)
They aren’t just tables, they have to be portable (light and easy to carry) as well as functional in a 10 x 10 space. LOTS of things to think about, more than just a table. I am blessed to have talented people around me who can design, build, create things…and who are TOTALLY supportive. Kevin took pictures of this process…I think it is always interesting to see something from start to finish. So stay tuned!
