Watercolor Journal

Started the text block for the watercolor journal that is my next project. This time I will pay more attention to the size of the spine to make sure I am not over-stuffing it.

Now that I look at the images,  I also now see that I might be sewing it wrong. Will need to look at the instructions I have been using at home. I found this picture that shows the pattern to sew it:

In this diagram, there are 6 holes in the paper, and 2 binding tapes (c & b in above picture).

I have also now started on the covers. You can see that I made the spine pretty large to make sure I don’t cram too much in there. If it looks like it is too large, I can always add an additional signature to the block I already have. It won’t be pretty, I’m sure.

The book is now complete! I finished up the other day, and think it turned out quite well. There are some flaws, the inside covers for the front and back really aren’t attached the way I would have wanted. I used some book tape to attach another folio to the front and back of the book. I then glued those covers to the front and back. If you look inside, you see tape, and that’s not really the look I was going for. I don’t think I took a picture of the inside to show you, and have already given it to my mother-in-law!
